The following are just a few reports on the benefits of using essential oils for issues that arise during pregnancy and child birth. If you have something to share related to this, send in your story to tom@health-essentials.info.
From Peggy:
I'd just like to thank the person who told me about the website that reported on a study about using lavender oil in sitz baths for women who had to have episiotomies during childbirth.
I spoke with a friend last night. Her daughter gave birth Sunday morning. It was quite stressful and traumatic on both mother and baby. The doctor spent 2 hours sewing her up from major tearing. I suggested spraying lavender oil in the area. She emailed me this a.m. saying that she can walk without pain.
Aren't these oils wonderful?
From Kristine:
I'm starting my fourth month of pregnancy this week, and have been using the essential oils liberally.
I use a lot of the mother-baby blend on my abdomen, and frankincense. I use spearmint on my temples for the nausea, and occasionally peppermint.
I've been very, very sick, and only have enough energy to do about 2-3 hours of errands and stuff. The rest of the time I am battling fatigue and nausea, and the painful question of what I can put in my stomach — that I can force myself to eat.
I think that the protein power meal replacement and fitness supporting supplement have been the best help, and I do notice a difference when I use them.
I also notice a difference when I use rose oil, and will sometimes carry it around with me, just to sniff it.
I drink 3-4 quart jars of carbon filtered water, only use rice milk, and try very hard to stay away from additives. I feel that the more energy my body has to use to fight preservatives and stress, the less there is available for me and the baby. I also use the extra balancing moisture cream almost daily. I probably use 6-7 other oils on my body, just choosing from my complete selection.
From Debbi:
My daughter-in-law and nieces have used Clary sage with great results. It resulted in quick, smooth labor and delivery. One of them used the female blend with good results, and I have read that jasmine is very good. The mother-baby blend can be rubbed on the tummy for stretching, as well as on the perineum, to help prevent episiotmies and tearing. It's not advised to use Clary sage, except in the last few weeks of your pregnancy. The mother-baby blend is wonderful for the newborn, to soothe and relax (dilute with a pure vegetable oil).
Blessings to you.
