Scientific Studies on Dietary Supplements
Important information supporting the roll of supplements in health
The dietary supplements is a rapidly-growing industry. New products are coming out almost every day. Many of these have limited scientific foundation, and even those with science behind them can still be pretty rough on your system.
It's a big mistake to think of dietary supplements like we do drugs. The focus needs to be on how the body is supposed to work. That will lead to dietary supplements that not only meet real needs, but won't over-tax the liver in the process.
The following is a list of articles that should help you through the maze of supplements. It's not exhaustive, by any means (especially now . . . ), but it addresses some important supplements that too little is being said about.
Articles in the section:
- Nattokinase: the miracle systemic enzyme from Japan: Fermented soybeans offer enzyme that dissolves fibrin in the body.
- The Importance of Dietary Enzymes for Good Health.
- Bromelain: Nature's non-toxic alternative to aspirin therapy.
- Risk Assessment of Nutrients and Related Substances: a response to the IOM's unscientific method for determining risk factors for nutritional supplements.
