The Science & Application of Essential Oils video
Practical instruction on the everyday use of therapeutic-grade essential oils for natural health and wellness
This video now comes in a DVD format, and includes Gary Young's presentation on Young Living Supplements. |
The Science & Application of Essential Oils video is, in my opinion, one of the most useful resources on effective aromatherapy applications. The original RainDrop Technique Video, it will truly be a treasured part of your aromatherapy library.
This video presentation will help you to maximize your experience with therapeutic-grade essential oils like nothing else. Aside from the Essential Oils Desk Reference, I have received more practical — really usable — information from this video than from any other source.
In the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video, D. Gary Young presents a 42-minute demonstration of truly practical aromatherapy applications. He also tells about some of the scientific discoveries related to essential oils.
What I like best about the Science & Application Video — what I have used the most in my own practice of medicinal aromatherapy — is Gary Young's clear and detailed demonstration of the Vita-Flex Technique (See below).
"I'd be hard-pressed to choose between the Desk Reference, the RainDrop Video and the Science & Application Video. I consider all three to be indispensable. However, for personal use, I might choose the Science & Application Video over the RainDrop Video, on the basis of its practical information."

What you'll see on this video
The Science & Application of Essential Oils Video is about — you guessed it — the science of essential oils and the effective application of essential oils. And while I find the science part intriguing, it's the application part that makes this video truly a treasure.
On this video, Gary Young gives a what I consider to be a priceless demonstration of the Vita-Flex Technique, as well as a brief overview of the RainDrop Technique. But here's what makes the Science & Application Video uniquely valuable to those learning to do aromatherapy:
- In the Essential Oils Desk Reference, there is a pretty good treatment of the Vita-Flex Technique, but it is very hard to translate that into a working knowledge of the application without a visual demonstration of it.
- In the RainDrop Technique Video, there is a good basic demonstration of Vita-Flex; but, the demonstration is basically limited to the feet — specifically to the points associated with the spine.
While there is the Vita-Flex along the spine in Step 6 of the RainDrop Technique, it's application is more concerned with the spine than specific body systems. But in the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video, Gary presents a much more detailed demonstration of Vita-Flex, applying oils to the feet, legs and back, and showing how you can use therapeutic-grade essential oils and essential oil blends for other things. For example, he shows how to use:
- the digestive blend on the Vita-Flex points of the feet and along the shin, for the support of the digestive system;
- the glandular blend on the back, for the support of the adrenal glands.
This is information that my family and I use every day. I do the Vita-Flex on my own feet almost every day, and have used Gary's demonstrations on this video for a host of other things, for me and my family.
I simply can't imagine my life without it.
Along with the Essential Oils Desk Reference, and the RainDrop Technique Video, the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video forms a very solid foundation for the effective use of therapeutic-grade essential oils.
My personal opinion: In terms of everyday, practical use, for those not working professionally in massage or aromatherapy, this video may be of more help than the RainDrop Technique Video.
