Aromatherapy is a wonderful healing modality, all by itself; but many healthcare professionals have also found it to boost the effectiveness of other forms of healing many times over. Here are two therapeutic-grade essential oil blends that anyone working in the natural health and wellness field should become familiar with.
Introduction: two very special aromatherapy blends
Two therapeutic-grade essential oils that are especially useful for natural health practitioners, massage therapists, reiki, energy healers, and many other healing modalities, are the energy balancing blend and the protective blend.
The energy balancing blend
The energy balancing blend is a beautiful blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils, including the oils of rosewood, blue tansy and frankincense. It's one of my favorite blends, and has many applications. It's most notable attributes are it's ability to balance electrical energies in the body, and balance and align the body's physical structure.
Often called a "Chiropractor in a Bottle", many chiropractors have found that rubbing the energy balancing blend on the feet before a chiropractic adjustment helps facilitate skeletal alignment. One chiropractor (Dr. Howard Cohen) has said that, when using this essential oil blend, he is able to adjust 70% less, and the adjustments hold 60% longer. Some people have even found that simply applying this oil blend to the feet — especially when using the vita-flex technique (and especially when mixed with a few drops of frankincense) — will correct spinal alignment without any manipulation.
The energy balancing blend is a unique oil blend, and is one of the first oil blends I recommend you try — especially if you're a natural health practitioner or a massage therapist. It's the first oil applied in the Raindrop Technique, and is wonderful for massage therapists.
When applying the energy balancing blend, apply it on the feet first, and let it work for 5-10 minutes before you start the massage; then massage 5 or 6 drops into the back.
A very balancing essential oil blend
The beauty of the energy balancing blend is most apparent at those times when more than one oil is needed to help the body restore proper balance. The oils in this blend create a synergy not available in single oils. Oil molecules vibrate at frequencies that match those found in the body, and when the body is out of balance, oil blends like this help the cells to resonate at proper frequencies, restoring stability.
Gary Young said in his book, Aromatherapy: The Essential Beginning (pp 30-31), "I made an interesting discovery about skeletal alignment with a formula I made called [the energy balancing blend]. I made the discovery while applying it to the bottom of a person's feet. [The energy balancing blend] has a very low frequency of 47 Hz, which works with the skeletal frequency of the bones. The bones have an electrical frequency of 45 Hz. These frequencies together allow the muscles and tendons to relax and the bones and vertebrae to move and self-correct the skeletal alignment."
On the emotional level, this aromatherapy blend helps with courage, strength and confidence.
The energy balancing blend is one of the oils that everyone should use. If you haven't experienced this essential oil blend yet, you're missing something really special.
Anecdotal Reports on the energy balancing blend:
Tom
For about 30 years, I've suffered from Fibromyalgia. My back always felt like a fist, and my frequent visits to the chiropractor didn't do much to ease the pain. By the time I got back into my car, I felt like I needed to turn around and go back in.
But since using the energy balancing blend, I've reduced my need to see the chiropractor by about 80%, and I feel adjusted between visits.
While I love to use energy balancing blend on my feet, another wonderful way to use this blend is in a bath gel. I dump most of a bottle into a bottle of the gel and use it in the shower. I turn off the water, lather up real good, and let the oils work into my body before rinsing it off.
Wow!
It's really invigorating and leaves me feeling balanced and ready for the day.

I used to work in inventory and would wear one of those computer keypads strapped around my hip all day. My back was always twisted from reaching forward with my left hand to count, and entering the numbers on the keypad hanging from the right side of my hip.
When I would get home, my back would be very sore; so, I would rub the energy balancing blend on the bottom of my feet, on the vita-flex spine points. Within minutes, my back would feel better.
If you have someone there to do it for you, rubbing it on your back is also great; but, I usually found that applying it to the feet was all I needed.

One of the very first oils I like to recommend to anyone is the unique energy balancing blend. Because of this wonderful blend, I'm no longer a "regular" at my local chiropractor.
In the past, I needed to see my chiropractor several times per month. But I remembered reading, somewhere in the past, that the energy balancing blend would help a chiropractic adjustment hold better, by quite a high percent. I tried it, and it certainly has proven to be the true in my case .
In November 2001, I was in a car accident that really affected my back. My lower back was in such a bad way that I could hardly stand and converse with people, or stand in lines.
At that time, things were going on that made it hard for me to get to my chiropractor. Then, I remember reading on the "Joy" discussion group about a person who used the energy balancing blend, and found significant help for her back. So, I gave it a try.
This is what I did. First, I put 6 drops each foot to balance myself. Then, I put about 3 drops of the blend on the lower back, where I had the most pain, and 3 more drops at the base my the neck. Then, I placed one of my hands on my lower back and the other on the base of my neck and held that for 2 or 3 minutes. Then I switched hands and did that again for another 2 or 3 minutes. I did this several times over the next week or so. Soon, I noticed that I no longer had a problem. Now my back feels normal. It has been nearly a year now.
I am so thankful for these wonderful, God-given oils. The energy balancing blend is a blend I never want to be without.

I am a Chiropractor, and have used the energy balancing blend in my practice with good results. I have also used valerian, cypress, [wintergreen] and peppermint, depending on the underlying problem.
If it's a muscle problem, we'll use valerian; for scar tissue, we'll use cypress; if it's a joint/bone problem we will use [wintergreen]. To increase circulation we will use peppermint.
My husband is also a chiropractor. We both use essential oils in our practices, and have many testimonies from our patients, as well as our own.

I use the energy balancing blend to balance Chakras. I haven't gone into anything else specifically to close or open them. I intuitively pick different oils to use on people before I work on them (Reiki). I use the energy balancing blend first, though, to create the balance in them, and leave it on for around 8-10 minutes before I begin Reiki.

The energy balancing blend is one oil I am never without, and hope to never be out of.
In addition to putting it on my feet and neck, I put it on my shoulders. I used to have a lot of pain in my shoulders from sleeping on them; but not anymore.
I did a Raindrop Technique last night on my grandson's other grandma. She was very amazed at the energy shift she felt in her feet as I held them with the energy balancing blend.
It's very rewarding to have someone who is unaccustomed to the oils feel something as dramatic as that — and they always do with the energy balancing blend.
The Protective Blend: a shield against negative energy
In a world filled with evil influences and negative energies, it's a welcome relief to find a highly protective formula to help shield the psyche. The Protective Blend is just such a shield.
The Protective Blend and Environmental Toxins:
I live in an area where, during the growing season (from about March to November), the air is loaded with lawn chemicals and insecticides. All of these are powerful neuro-toxins, and I tend to react quite badly to them.
But I've found that, along with the homeopathic remedy Rescue 5, the Protective Blend helps to quiet down my nervous system and restore balance to my body's energies. Essentially, it helps to restore the communication between the cells that is disrupted by the petrochemicals in my environment.
I just put a few drops on my shoulders, behind the ears and on the back of the neck. Applying it to the temples, over the heart, around the navel and on the bottom of the feet is also helpful.
The Protective Blend is a blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils with a frequency that protects against the bombardment of negative energy. The oils in it were used during ancient times to increase the aura around the body, bringing a delicate sense of strength and protection, and creating a feeling of wholeness to one's spirituality.
The Protective Blend is a blessing for those working or interacting with others. It protects them from the constant energy drain that occurs when they're subjected to negative feelings, thought forms and energetic disturbances of those around them. If you're working with the public, in sales, customer service, counseling, massage or energy therapies, you'll really benefit from using this blend.
The Protective Blend can be diffused, worn as a perfume or cologne, or applied on the shoulders, the chest and the top of the head. Massage therapists and energy workers should apply it to their shoulders and abdomen before beginning each massage/session.
The Protective Blend contains the following therapeutic-grade essential oils:
- Geranium, which is believed to be a shield from negative comments, ill intentions and meanness, by embracing us with feelings of comfort and protection. Its scent creates a secure place for us to reconnect to our true feelings.
- Spruce has a fragrance that brings calm assurance to those suffering from fear and anxiety, like a protective fortress.
- Myrrh is an ideal oil for people who lie in bed and repeat the same thoughts again and again. It's believed to offer fortitude and courage.
- Ylang Ylang's beautiful aroma shields when in love, protecting one from a broken heart. The oil is believed to balance male and female energies, bringing harmony to these very different sides of our beings.
- Hyssop's aroma is believed to protect against pessimism, and encourages clarity and balance.
- Bergamot's scent encourages feelings of strength and confidence, protecting one from fear and anxiety. It's ideal for long, difficult days of frayed nerves and continual frustration.
- Melissa encourages strength and cheerfulness. When used with geranium (as it is in this formula), the two oils bring reassurance and quell feelings of insecurity.
- Sandalwood's scent is believed to aid in meditation and prayer by encouraging serenity and insightfulness. This oil also protects one from being overly concerned about worldly possessions.
- Rose has a beautiful aroma. Its scent protects against melancholy, grief and anxiety, and is particularly useful for those filled with grief after a loss.
- Rosewood oil, like this hard, tall evergreen tree, inspires protection and love.
